Emily Yip


Emily grew up in San Diego, California. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology. She worked for several years in the medical device industry before attending law school at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She loves living in the Bay Area, but has fond memories of living in Portland, OR, Madison, WI, and Hanoi, Vietnam.

Professional Experience:

Emily joined HCSS in 2013 after having a solo practice in family law. Emily focuses her practice at HCSS on family law, serving clients in San Francisco, Alameda, Marin, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties. She was a founding executive board member of the Oregon Asian Pacific American Bar Association and served for two years as co-chair of the Asian American Bar Association’s Solo and Small Firm Committee. She has enjoyed serving as a volunteer attorney with Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach and local bar associations, and serves as a supervising attorney for the Golden Gate University, School of Law Externship program.
